Achievement First (AF) is a top-performing charter network with 36 schools and more than 13,000 students across Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York City. AF is committed to sharing all that we have learned over 20 years about how to provide students with an excellent education. AF Accelerate, a dedicated "partnerships" division, is the engine to achieve that goal. AF Accelerate's team of proven school and network leaders- from AT and other high-performing networks- partners with educators across the country, bringing the same focus and sense of urgency that has propelled our own success, to help improve outcomes for all of America's children. Since 2010, our work has grown to serve more than 60,000 non-AF students in schools and networks across the country.
Through our Navigator program, AF Accelerate provides intense, sustained implementation support to other schools and networks to adopt AF's elementary (K-5) and/or middle school (6-8) math curriculum and instructional practices to help them support their students to breakthrough results in math. The work that informed Navigator began at AF in school year 2014-15 when a review of AF's academic programs by the Aspen Institute's Urban Superintendent Network made it clear that AF needed to rebuild its curriculum, instruction, and assessments to meet the rigor of the Common Core - and it did. Now, Navigator helps other school and networks put in place a rigorous, Common Core-aligned academic foundation by providing access to AF's elementary and middle school math program with a proven track record of success, as well as ongoing professional development and one-on-one coaching to support their journey to create a powerful and long-lasting impact on student achievement.
