Digital Promise was launched with the mission to accelerate innovation in education to improve opportunities to learn. Our vision is that all people at every stage of their lives have access to learning experiences that help them acquire the knowledge and skills they need to thrive and continuously learn in an ever-changing world. Digital Promise realizes this vision by growing strong networks, connecting research and practice, and providing relevant and powerful professional learning opportunities. The Digital Credentialing and Certifications team works specifically to expand access to educational and workforce development opportunities for educators and adult learners. In response to educators’ need for more meaningful and flexible professional learning opportunities, Digital Promise built an innovative system of micro-credentials (https://microcredentials.digitalpromise.org) that recognizes educators for the skills they learn throughout their careers. Digital Promise is the leader in educator micro-credentials, with a research-backed framework adopted by over 50 issuers and 530 micro-credentials. Each micro-credential provides a clear method for demonstrating a competency, supporting the educator with resources and key instructional methods applied in the classroom. Clearly stated artifacts for evidence submission and the criteria that is used to measure success is outlined for the educator. Micro-credentials are not specific to a particular subject or grade level, focusing instead on the methods and skills educators exhibit in the classroom.
