PASA™s mission is to expand and improve quality after-school, summer, and other expanded learning opportunities for all Providence youth by organizing a sustainable public-private system that contributes to student success and serves as a national model.
Now in our second decade, we successfully coordinate two connected systems of high impact learning opportunities the AfterZone and Hub™ for Providence youth that provide middle and high school students with a menu of programs in STEM, the visual and performing arts, athletics, and career exploration. In 14 years, we have served over 14,000 youth who have become more engaged in learning thanks to the relevant, hands-on learning offered through the AfterZone and Hub™s after-school, summer, and credit-bearing programs.
As part of our commitment to high-quality programs, we offer professional development opportunities to our staff and program providers, the Providence Public School District, the City of Providence, and the Rhode Island Afterschool Network. Opportunities include an introduction to positive youth development practices; cultural competency training; group facilitation strategies; youth voice, and more. We also offer opportunities for program assessment, feedback, coaching, and connecting partners to our network to allow for peer knowledge exchange.
