The Education Services Department of Rhode Island PBS provides content and services to support teaching and learning for educators, students, parents and learners of all ages in our community. Instructional media resources are distributed free-of-charge and leverage high-quality public media content adapted for instructional use, supported by outreach efforts and in-person trainings. Our featured resource is Rhode Island PBS LearningMedia ( – an online PreK-12 content library that provides FREE access to media-based instructional resources with tens of thousands of resources on the site.

Rhode Island PBS also offers the PBS TeacherLine: a catalog of online professional development courses for K-12 educators providing high-quality professional development with the goal of improving teacher quality and increasing student achievement. The online courses focus on a range of topics, including reading, mathematics, science, social studies, curriculum and instruction, and integration of technology to enhance student learning. The multimedia courses reflect current research on effective professional development including providing sustained, intensive professional development. PBS TeacherLine’s main offerings include dozens of fee-based online courses (ranging from $49-$480 per seat) facilitated by certified educators with university credit options.  In addition, PBS TeacherLine also provides access to several free online professional development resources such as self-paced courses, professional learning community discussion boards and online chats with experts.
